Daikin India aims to invest Rs 330 crore by the end of FY2013. The investment will be carried upon to double its production capacity for room air conditioners. Presently, the company has a manufacturing capacity of half million units on annual basis. Speaking on development, Daikin Airconditioning India Managing director Kanwal Jeet Jawa, told, "We have decided to double our manufacturing capacity for room air conditioners and take it to one million units. We will invest Rs 330 crore for that". However, it is not cleared that the suggested investment will for new plant or the existing one, which is situated at Neemrana in Rajasthan. Justifying the investment move when the country is going through a demand slump, Jawa added "There are a lot of pressures due to economic slowdown but this is also time for us to grow. We have a long term focus about growth in India."
