DLF to sign master franchise agreement with Arcadia's Topshop

UK Retailer Philip Green-led Arcadia Group is entering a partnership with realty major DLF to bring high street clothing chain Topshop in India. It is learnt that Arcadia has chosen DLF to be its master franchisee in India. The legal aspects of the collaboration are still at a formative stage. DLF is rumoured to have started allocating space for Topshop at some of its projects that are expected to be operational by the end of this year. Topshop specialises on high-end streetwear and accessories with primary focus on women’s wear line. The company is present in 30 global markets that include Southeast Asian markets in Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. It is exploring routes to enter emerging retail markets such as China, Russia and India. When contacted, DLF official informs that everything is under negotiation and at speculative level.
