Jasmeet Sahi (JS): Are their any special offers at Tanishq this Diwali?
V. Govindraj (VG): Yes, Tanishq has many special offers this festive season. There is a ‘Diamond Queen’ offer where shoppers have a chance to win jewellery over four crores, a necklace worth Rs 25 lakh and be crowned as the ‘Diamond Queen’.  

JS: How good have been the sales during the Diwali season?
VG: The sale of jewellery picks up considerably during Diwali. This period is followed by the wedding season where once again the sales are very good. The reason for this is that it is considered auspicious to buy gold during festive season, and as it is immediately followed by the wedding season people tend to keep buying. 

JS: The ‘Jodha Akbar’ collection was a hit last year. Does Tanishq have any such special collections this year?
VG: The ‘Jodha Akbar’ collection was a promotional activity by the film makers. Just like the ‘Paheli’ collection a few years ago. Tanishq has a ‘Tanishq Punjabi Wedding Collection’ and a wide range of jewellery from kundan-polki sets to diamonds. The designs in the wedding collections are a blend of tradition and modernity. 

JS: Corporate gifting is quite a trend today. Do companies make bulk orders for this purpose from Tanishq?
VG: Yes, there are quite a few companies that make such orders on the occasion of Diwali. Whether it is for corporate gifting or for personal utility is a different matter altogether. 

JS: What store decorations are being done at Tanishq stores this Diwali?
VG: Tanishq has its in-house visual merchandising team, and with the change in season and festivals the store decorations also change. The VM is in tune with the Diwali season for this month. 

JS: Considering the ever-increasing gold prices, has the purchase of gold been affected by it?
VG: The sales could have been better, of course. Yes, the price hike in gold has affected sales quite a bit.
