The 6th edition of Indian Retail Congress concluded was a well celebrated event. The two day event at JW Marriot was largely based on the four themes including digital payments, 21th century consumer experience, the bigger and better e-commerce and combining bricks & clicks.
The speakers at the conference included India’s top notch investors, retailers, independent observers and international experts who have created a distinguished place for themselves in Indian retail sector. The two daylong event was included with many knowledge based editorial conferences and exhibition area. This year the event was attend by about 60 speakers and more than 200 delegates.
The event was kick started with lamp lighting ceremony by the pious hands of Arvind Varchaswi, Managing Director, SrivedaSattva. In his inaugural conversation with Ritu Marya, Editor-in-Chief, Franchise India & Entrepreneur Media he deciphered the importance of ancient ayurvedic medicine. He informed that SrivedaSattva products are available in 30 countries presently, and will soon scale-up the distribution by adding at least 20 more countries. At present, the company is retailing about 350 SKUs and has aggressive plans to increase the product range.
Speaking on retail formats within the country he said,” The dynamics of the customer is changing; hence, we cannot reply on particular format. However, we are really concentrating on e-commerce in india, same time we have also observe the traditional trade has increased multifold this year. People these days are very particular about what they are looking far, so we have to pace up with them. We constantly explore ways how traditional formats can be used using modern technology. Also, we make sure to be present at on all channels of retail. “Going further he added that we ensure the happiness of our patrons instead of just focusing on revenue part, “we are here to create the difference.” He also stressed that retail and e-commerce should go hand in hand, and retailers must focus on order fulfillment than anything else.
During the inaugural he also highlighted the social projects undertaken by Shree Shree in last 35 years that includes in the areas of river rejuvenation, education, adoption and many more. He also shed the light on 'Make in India' initiative and its usability to country overall.
