Woodland partners with Rainforest Challenge India 2015
Woodland, the global outdoors and adventure gear and outerwear brand, announced that the brand has partnered with Force Gurkha RFC India 2015. Woodland has entered into an alliance with India’s only international off-road motorsport event because the concept of RFC India is in sync with Woodland’s ideology of creating unparalleled solutions for outdoor and adventure enthusiasts.

In its second edition of the extremely challenging motorsport, the event will take place in Goa from 24th July to 31st July wherein around 40 teams are expected to compete for the RFC India 2015 title.

RFC India was launched last year as the India Chapter of the iconic Rainforest Challenge of Malaysia, which is among the top 10 toughest and the most internationally represented motor races in the world. The competition tests the driving and vehicle recovery skills of the competing teams under extreme off-road conditions through 24 Special Stages which are conducted in four competitive legs – the Prologue, the Predator, the Terminator and the Twilight Zone.

Harkirat Singh, MD Woodland said, “The RFC India association is very strong and perfectly aligns with our commitment to inspire and imbibe the spirit of adventure for outdoor sports and to inculcate a sense of environmentally conscious lifestyle in today’s youth. Our brand has a very strong proplanet policy wherein we constantly work towards keeping our environment safe. We have partnered with RFC India not only because it is a perfect fit for us due to the outdoor and adventurous nature of the event, but also because of the stringent policies that have been put in place by the organizers to ensure protection of the area during the course of the event. Thus, we are very happy to be associated with this iconic event and I am looking forward to seeing some fabulous action in Goa in July.”

In a first of its kind initiative for an event in India, RFC India has adopted an environment charter and has set up strict guidelines for the participants where failure to adhere to the rules might result in the team being disqualified from the event. Moreover, an Environment Steward has been appointed who makes sure that all the rules laid down in the environment charter are followed with precision. Cougar Motorsport, the Delhi-based company which organizes RFC India, is also a member of ‘Tread Lightly!’, an international nonprofit organization that is dedicated to protecting the outdoors.

“I am glad that such an eminent brand in the extreme weather outdoor gear category has partnered with our event. It is a big myth that off-road motorsport can’t be conducted in an environment friendly manner. Globally, RFC has been working towards busting this myth with a very strict environment protection policy in place and we have maintained that tradition for the India Chapter as well. Since Woodland has a reputation for partnering only with environment friendly causes and events, their decision of coming on board RFC India as Associate Sponsors is an evidence of their trust in our event.” said Mr. Ashish Gupta, Founder & Director, Cougar Motorsport.
