Noida-based water purifier company, Kent RO System, has accused that Amazon and its two sellers have been selling products that are similar to the registered styles of the company.
The water-purifier company has dragged Amazon and its two sellers to the Delhi High Court for allegedly selling products and styles similar to those sold by the company.
Rajeshwari H, the Lawyer for Kent RO, said, "Lot of them are copying our products and selling them online. Amazon hosting those products is supposed to check."
She said, "Poor quality copies of Kent RO products that are priced for more than Rs 15,000 are sold online on Amazon for Rs 3,000-4,000."
According to Amazon, it operates a marketplace allowing independent sellers to sell their products and said the company takes such charges against sellers seriously.
An Amazon Spokesperson said, "We wish to highlight that the concerned Kent RO case is not about counterfeit but about design infringement by sellers. Irrespective, even from a counterfeit standpoint, we wish to state that Amazon has zero tolerance for counterfeit.
Respecting customer trust, Amazon invests heavily in protecting the integrity of amazon.in marketplace for its consumers, sellers, and manufacturers. Amazon is working closely with rights owners to strengthen protections for their brands on amazon.in."
