IGI Airport emerges as 'Most Profitable Destination' for brands

The IGI Airport, Delhi, has emerged as the most lucrative retail destination for luxury brands, including Swarovski, Marks & Spencer, Samsonite, Hidesign and Kimaya in India, as compared to malls like Select CityWalk, New Delhi, and Phoenix Mall, Mumbai. In 2011, the airport generated sales of 5,000 per square feet per month, four times higher than the second best location. This figure includes sales from duty-free shops as well as regular shops.
What makes T3 the sought after destination for luxury brands to operate is its size and the number of passengers using it. T3 is one of the largest and busiest airports of South Asia and was used by more than 35 million passengers in 2011.
