Furlenco launches new range of furniture at 50% off the original price

Online furniture rental portal, Furlenco has launched a new range of furniture at a 50% reduced cost compared to its current range. The range called 'Essentials' targets value seekers, who largely seem to be in the age group of 22 to 30.

The 'Essentials' range showcases about 8-10 packages include double beds, sofas, wardrobes, side tables, decor items like lamps, and appliances like TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, and washing machines and starts at rentals of Rs 499 – a 50% drop from its main range that starts at Rs 999.

With an in-house design team, Furlenco will design and manufacture furniture for this new range as well. The portal is seeing interest from customers across the Essentials range that also allows them to pick and choose between pricey and value-based products.

Ashwin Venkatraman, COO, Furlenco said, "The intent is to create flexibility for users to pick products that showcase value for their money and give them that flexibility to pick a better option as well which is our main range. That is the mix and match that we are seeing amongst customers. Typically people usually take 2-3 packages and the general relationship value is around Rs 2,500-3,000 in this range."

Furlenco claims that the Essentials range has been its biggest launch so far and is targeting 40% of its incremental revenue growth to be driven by this range.

Venkatraman said, "Furlenco is looking at the Essentials range to drive anywhere between 40-50% of our incremental growth. We have earmarked about 30% of our overall investment for design and setting up of this range."

Furlenco has also partnered with various makers of electronic goods for this range and plans to widen the range of products on offer as per growth in customer demand.

Venkatraman said, "For white goods, we recently launched furniture that is in-built with electronics such as TV, home theatre systems, etc. We are starting to partner with makers at that depth and not just at the sourcing level."
