To fill the vacuum of quality fashion products in the city of Chandigarh and to cater to the increasing demands of people seeking luxury products, the brand Fragrance And Flavor was born. Harpreet Singh, Managing Director, Fragrance And Flavor talks about the inception and working of the store.

Aparna Sharon Isa Dass (ASID): What inspired you to launch ‘Fragrance and Flavor’?

Harpreet Singh (HS): I have been always inspired by luxury brands and perfumes, and being a globetrotter I saw major perfumes and cosmetic brands in every nook and corner.  To fill the vacuum of quality fashion products in the tri-city and to cater to the ever increasing demands of the customers we planned to make a foray into this sector.

ASID: What are the products that are available for customers?

HS: When you talk about products there is a wide array of perfumes for both men and women, cosmetic products like body lotions, night crèmes, sun crèmes, eye liners, nail paints, lip colours and gloss and when you talk about products the list is endless.

ASID: Which all international brands you are housing?

HS: We have over a 100 brands of perfumes ranging from Dior, Jennifer Lopez, Gucci, Versace, Armani, Azzaro, Lacoste, Chanel, Givenchy to Fcuk and in cosmetics we  have Dior, Estee Lauder, Clinique and we are shortly coming up with Mac, Bobbi Brown, YSL, Lancome and H2o.

ASID: From where do you source your products?

HS: We are directly sourcing our brands from the U.S. as we do not want to compromise on the quality.

ASID: What kind of investment went into the opening of the store?

HS: Investment in business is always a concern as in such businesses you have to order in bulk first when you start but yes, we have done our part and its the people(our very own clients),who have to do their bit.

ASID: Do you believe you have the first mover advantage in the city as there are hardly any players in this field?

HS: Yes, we will be having the advantage but cannot relax as we have to keep ourselves updated to cater to our customer’s demands. I believe in this phrase 'you do the small things right and big things will happen themselves'.

ASID: What kind of a clientele you are catering to?

HS: We are targeting the crème of the city as we have all the luxury brands under one roof. Mac, Bobbi Brown and many other perfume brands are being introduced for the first time but we also have products and brands to cater to the middle class as our products start from Rs 500 onwards and gift packs also from Rs 500.

ASID: What are the company’s expansion plans?

HS:  We plan to open 10 stores by the end of next year across the country.
